Prior to Stern, Miriam worked in the nonprofit sector as an educator. After completing Teach For America, she joined a charter network, Ascend Learning, where she helped to found two new schools and developed a rigorous Humanities curriculum. In that role, Miriam managed the network’s transition to the Common Core Curriculum, partnering with school-based leadership teams and teachers. Miriam received her B.A. in English Literature from Princeton University and holds a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from American University. She spent her summer as an NYU Center for Business and Human Rights fellow at SAP Ariba, working in the Product Innovation and Sustainability group.
